They do not do all the services they list as part of their oil change. My brother's friend got in an argument with Jiffy Lube over the same thing. They always over fill the oil. I think quality varies from Jiffy Lube to Jiffy Lube but you should stay away from the one in Sunnyvale .
i brought my car here for an oil change right before heading out to LA for a road trip .... i decided to clean my car and check all the fluids and guess what i find next to the engine ..... one of the Jiffy lube tools .... now wat do u think would have happened if that would have fallen into the fan or belts??? on highway 5 or pacheco pass???? so i take the car back to jiffy lube the manager gives me atitude!!! no refund nothing but a $5 dollar coupon for my next visit ... F**k that!!!! definately service varies between locations......
My fiance took her car here for an oil change, tire rotation, and maybe a few other minor maintenance tasks. For the most part everything was fine.
A week later I'm riding in her car for the first time since the oil change and I smelled burning oil. So we decided to have a look under the hood and lo and behold, Jiffy Lube had freaking forgotten to screw the oil cap back on. There was oil splashed on the underside of the hood, the top of the engine block, and running down the back of the engine. How do you screw that up? Changing oil isn't that complicated...
The oil cap was somehow resting on top of the engine block upside down. I have no idea how it hadn't slid off onto the ground. The oil level was below the lower dot on the dipstick, but still barely visible at the bottom of the dipstick. Apparently her car (Toyota Corolla, 2001 I think) has some kind of valve at the top of the engine block that keeps oil from gushing out. Instead it slowly bubbles out.
So we took it back and they sprayed degreaser all over the place and generally cleaned things up pretty well, then topped off the oil.
I noticed that the oil level was ABOVE the upper dot on the dipstick, which always bugs me. I had taken my car there a few weeks earlier, so I decided to check the oil level in my car and it, too, was above the upper dot on the dipstick.
I'm so never going to a Jiffy Lube again.
I wish there was a 0 star rating.
I paid for synthetic oil. While I was waiting (the only customer in the store) I heard the oil-pump used for the regular stuff. They then used a oil can to fill in my oil. I went out and asked where the synthetic oil was ( I should see 4-5 empty quart bottles ) They told me that they keep that oil in the back and that the can is used to fill from the back room. I told them they were full of crap cause I heard and saw them filling a container with regular oil earlier, and there is no one else there to need that filling pump. They stuck with there story and since I cant test the oil to discern the difference I was screwed.
I filed a formal complaint with the central office and they gave me a $20 voucher for the same location! Are they retarded? I was ripped off and they not only gave me less that I was cheated out of but sent me to the corrupt monkeys that screwed me the first time.
I have no complaints about the company as a whole (other than high prices) and have received great service at other locations, but for your own sake stay away from this dishonest and criminal franchise location.
Oh my god.
I cannot believe the level of service this place provides. I had been warned to stay away from Jiffy Lube before but this is the last straw.
I waited 2 hours to get my oil changed and tires rotated, which was about 15 minutes of actual work, there were only two cars being serviced total with about 5 people on staff.
After an hour I received the usual air filter up-sell, didn't bother me, except they FORGOT TO PUT IT BACK IN, and on top of that, they didn't clamp the air box housing back together!!! Not only is that potentially dangerous to the engine, but it makes excessive noise.
On top of that the oil filter wasn't properly installed and was dripping oil onto the exhaust causing smoke and smells really bad when driving.
The 10 dollar an workers at Jiffy Lube do not care about your car at all, you are only a possible sale. If you want your car to run for more than a week after an oil change, stay away.
